This chart uses only scripture information using as source the Complete Tanakh (Tanach) - Hebrew Bible English translation. Bold text provides ‘mouse-over’ summaries based on Wiki and Jewish Encyclopedia. I am limited to 1020 characters or about one half page so use judgement in what I keep. For some, like Jacob, with 65 pages of source text, this is not an easy task so my apologies if I miss something you feel should be prioritized.  I am happy to consider changes and can be reached by e-mail.

CHART OF ADAM TO ABRAHAM

The “Chart” below depicts two different time periods for Creation, The Flood, Tower of Babel, and the lives of the Patriarchs, along with contemporaneous extra biblical history and archeological periods local to Mesopotamia where the events take place. The two possible realities differ by about 1000 years.  The earlier dates are based on the Genesis 5 & 11 Numbers from the Septuagint and the later dates from the different numbers in the Masoretic text. Most historians agree these two possible post flood worlds would be very different. A post flood "2000 BC" Masoretic world would have great city-states with well documented kings and dynasties. A Mesopotamia in 3000 BC however would mostly be decentralized cities and villages. The first “recorded“ king of Sumer Etana of Kish did not appear until 2800 BC. Writing only first emerged in c. 3400–3100 BC. The great pyramids were not built until c. 2600 BC. A ‘Septuagint’ flood in 3238 BC would therefore come ‘before’ recorded and verifiable history [and pyramids] whereas a ‘Masoretic’ flood in 2105 BC would take place after the pyramids and ‘during’ recorded history and reigns of kings. The same argument applies to Noah and his sons and ancestors as shown in the chart. They either lived in a ‘2000 BC’ or a ‘3000 BC’ world, not both. 

The Genesis 5 & 11 Numbers from the Septuagint and Hebrew Masoretic bible provide two very different periods for early biblical events and figures, one centered on a c. 2000 BC world with writing and history, the other in c. 3000 BC when much less is known or can be proven.
